Today, we have two different styles of four-pole trailer wiring harness. They're both gonna plug into the factory tow package plug in the rear of the vehicle. And they're very similar and will accomplish the same thing, but taking a closer look, there's a few differences, and I'm here to point those out to you. This is a pretty simple installation for both of them. As I mentioned, they go into a factory plug that's tucked behind the rear fascia, and it's gonna have a similar OEM-style plug that goes into there. more

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package Installation - 2024 GMC Terrain

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Tekonsha T-One, 4-Pole trailer wiring harness on a 2024 GMC Terrain. And this is gonna be a great option if you have a hitch on your terrain already because if you ever plan on pulling a trailer or a situation comes up that you need to pull a trailer, having that 4-pole trailer wiring harness means that you can safely and legally tow that trailer to get the light functions. Having this here means that you're able to plug into that trailer and get running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. And normally when it comes to wiring install, you do have to run this up to a battery to get 12 volt power, that's not the case here. This is a super easy installation because there's already a factory plug located in the rear of the fascia. It allows you to plug this in and once you zip tie it up, you're pretty well ready to go. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2024 GMC Terrain

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt Custom Fit four pole trailer wiring harness on a 2024 GMC Terrain with the factory tow package. Adding four pole trailer wiring harness to any vehicle that has a hitch is always a great option and the terrain's no different, if you plan on pulling a trailer or if you ever need to pull a trailer for whatever instance, you're gonna have this available right here by your hitch and that way you can get all your light functions, including your running lights, your turn signals, as well as brake lights. And that's gonna keep you safe and legal in the process. And this one in particular is super easy. It's got two factory relays that are already on the harness, which make it so you don't have any back feed. There's no potential for that to damage anything electrically on your vehicle. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 GMC Terrain

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2014 GMC Terrain. Here we have our trailer wiring, actually installed on the vehicle. And if you've ever seen cars with their 4-poles hanging out, that's because it lives inside the vehicle. You don't have to run it down and loop it to your trailer hitch. So, whenever you're not using it, you can actually store it inside and it's gonna keep it nice and clean until you're ready to use it. But something that's really nice about this 4-pole is the fact that you do have a molded on dust cap, and it's gonna keep this protected anyway that way you don't get any grim or anything built up in there. more

Now, we'll talk about some other mounting options here later in the video, but for most cases, this is pretty much how it's gonna look like. It's gonna to be pretty easy to use when we need it, but it's gonna be out of the way when we don't. When we are ready took up a trailer, we'll simply just remove the cover from the dust cap, and now we have the easy accessible four-pole we can plug right into our trailer and head off down the road. Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt vehicle wiring harness. So, these Terrains are really good all around versatile SUVs and that's why people use them for a little bit of everything. And the trailer wiring, what that's going to allow you to do is hook up to your trailer, illuminate the lights to not only be safe and legal, but allow other motorists around you to know your intentions as you're going down the road. And one thing people don't really think about is that some accessories, particularly cargo carriers, for example, actually have lights on them and can be lit up at night as well. Today in our 2018 GMC Terrain we're gonna be installing Tekonsha's T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118285. This harness is gonna plug into your trailer to provide it with all the necessary lighting. You simply plug in your four pole connector from your vehicle to your trailer, and it'll now provide all the necessary lighting, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and break lamps.Since this harness plugs right into your factory tow package, it acts as an adapter allowing you to get that four pole connection out at the back of your vehicle. Since you're using your factory tow package connector, all the necessary circuit protection is built into your vehicle for your towing circuits. This way, if you have a fault on your trailer, instead of it affecting any of the turn signals that you may have at the back of your vehicle, it will open the fuses for your tow package in your vehicle, which won't affect the lighting on the back of the vehicle. There's an included dust cap to keep out any dirt and debris, to ensure that you have a long lasting four pole connection. Additionally you can use this dust cap to keep the harness up and out of the way when not in use, by hooking it onto your hitches safety chain loop.Included in your box you'll receive your factory tow harness adapter connector as well as a bag with some zip ties and relays. more
